Boy's Summer Lacrosse!!

Boy's Summer Registration is OPEN!!

GIYL will once again offer summer lacrosse for boy's in grades 3-10.

We plan on offering the following teams this summer: grade 3/4; grade 5/6; grade 7/8; grade 9-10. Practices will begin in June and games will be played once a week starting mid-way through July. This is all contingent on having enough players register and having enough volunteer coaches for each team. We are always happy to have extra volunteers to assist with coaching teams!

We understand that this is a VERY busy time of year and you and your child may have other commitments along the way. Your child does NOT have to make all practices to participate in summer lacrosse, but please make every effort to make as many practices and games as possible.

Cost for will be $100, plus players must be current US Lacrosse members.
US Lacrosse membership is $30 for U14 and $35 for U15 - U18.
FYI... Your players US Lacrosse membership number must be active through July to finalize registration for any GIYL summer program. Membership information for US Lacrosse must match player profile on the GIYL website.
**Please make sure email, phone # and address are the same on GIYL registration and US Lacrosse registration to ensure you will be able to register without any issues. US Lacrosse membership provides GIYL and its players with insurance coverage. It also includes a subscription to Lacrosse Magazine for each player.

Divisions will go by current grade from 2022-2023 school year (not their grade in September 2023).
** If for some reason you are not able to register your child in the appropriate grade level, please email me at [email protected] with his birth date and current grade level so I can make the appropriate group open to them.

Game schedules will be released asap. They are made by the Western NY Summer Lacrosse League (WNYSLL). We are anticipating games running from the end of June until the end of July. Games will be held on Grand Island (HS or Vets Park) for home contests. We will also play away games at other WNY locations TBD.

Grade 9-11 Team - Wednesday nights
Grade 7/8 Team - Tuesday and Thursday nights
Grade 5/6 Team - Tuesday and Thursday nights
Grade 3/4 Team - Tuesday and Thursday nights

Equipment: Please remember that players should be properly equipped for every practice and game. This includes lacrosse helmet, gloves, arm pads, shoulder pads (new 2021 NOCSAE certified), cleats, and mouthpiece. A cup is also strongly encouraged for all players. Also, please remember to properly hydrate throughout the day to ensure proper hydration, especially on hot summer days.
